Herbert Loves Sherbet is a hilarious book about the importance of eating healthy. I adored this book. The neon colors and the silly rhymes made it fun to read and look at. Grandma comes to visit while mom and dad are out and manages to change Herbert’s mind about wanting to eat sherbet for every meal. As a mother to picky eaters this story resonated and felt too realistic. Maybe I should be giving the kids what they want for every meal to see if I can change their habits.

Herbert loves sherbet! Who could blame him? He tries to convince mom to only feed him sherbet- she doesn’t go for it. Then grandma comes to visit. Herbert tries his tactic on her too- grandma goes for it. Or does she?? Herbert eats sherbet and eats and eats.... until he begs for real food. Who fooled who?

And adorable story with beautiful colored illustration. This ice cream lover thought this rhyming book was a sure winner!

OMG I love this book. It’s so cute! The illustrations and story are fantastic. It teaches a lesson without being preachy. This is such a fun book! I highly recommend this one!

This book is written in rhyme with vibrant, neon illustrations that make you wish you were eating sherbet. Herbert learns two very valuable lessons ... be careful what you wish for, and that his beloved Grandma isn’t a sucker for his demands. This is a delightful book to share and discuss with little ones as well as for beginning readers. Herbert learns a very valuable life lesson thanks to his wise Grandma. Gotta love Grandmas. They rock!

This book was so fun! What child hasn’t dreamed of being able to eat his favorite food day and night, and Herbert gets the chance! But is it as fun as he hoped? The text is whimsical and fun and flows well. The pictures are so bright and fun. Absolutely loved it!

As a grandmother of three, I am happy to report that my grandsons loved hearing about Herbert and his adventures. This story is witty and the illustrations are very colorful. The kids loved hearing the rhymes and quickly were able to join in on the fun. It’s a great book to share with little ones as well as for beginning readers. You’ll want to eat lots of sherbet after reading this one!

I knew right away this was a great story as my grandchildren did not move during the story. They absolutely loved it! This is going to be a favorite for our family.

Joanie Leopold has created fun book that children will love. It has rhyming sentences and is colorful and cute. This book is would be great for children who are reluctant to try good, new experiences. And, especially for children who like to stay indoors instead of going outside to play (which is a common issue these days with everyone on their cell phones inside). If you enjoy this book, you might also enjoy Herbert Loves Sherbet. Both books have really beautiful art and are perfect for kids who love to read before bed.

After we read this book the first time, we had a talk about how sometimes we think we don’t like things, but then we try them and really like them. This is a nice, hardcover book. It is delightfully written and wonderfully illustrated. The book is well made and nicely bound. The pages are made of slick, heavyweight paper and easy for a child to turn without ripping. This is an excellent book. Our granddaughter loves it and asks us to read it to her over and over.

My kids loved this book and the illustrations. The rhythmic cadence holds their attention and the length is perfect. This is a favorite year-round.

After enjoying Herbert Loves Sherbet, we couldn’t wait to jump into Do You Like Snow? We all loved the story and the anticipation if the little girl would finally learn to enjoy the snow. The rhymes are easy for our two- and three-year-old grandsons to pick-up and the six-year-old is just as interested in the story. The book has a nice, hard cover and is bound to withstand many, many readings. You won’t be disappointed with this children’s book even if you don’t have snow where you live.
